Those Funny Pigs

Our Friday started with a lovely Mass.  Afterwards we just walked for a bit because we were all fancied up in our cutest picture clothes and Mrs. Paris didn't want us getting disheveled. Usually, we run and get our wiggles out before heading back to class.
A dramatic production of The Three Little Pugs followed.  Wow, we have some expressive readers in second grade.

Have I told you about this crazy guy Fred?  He loves math.  This week he introduced us to a weird word- variable.  When you use a symbol for an unknown value, it is called a variable. Since he was talking about days of the week, we reviewed as well.
We have been studying matter and mixtures and solutions.  We did an experiment to determine if lemonade was just a mixture, or a mixture and a solution.  We loved drinking the results.
We always have some math with science and figured out that the measuring container was called a quarter cup or one fourth cup because it takes four of them to make a cup.

We had new visitors for Game Day.  What a fun way to do some extra learning.

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
