Folktales, Halloween, and Prayer Service

My, my, what a busy couple of weeks in room 15.

The students enjoyed having an audience for Folktales.

And the goblins will get you if  you don't watch out.
Our Halloween sunsets turned out beautifully with a bleeding tissue paper background.

We used the Mod Podge to make treat buckets.
We marched into prayer service and did our Saint and Day of the Dead presentations.

In our garden marigold crowns we were all kinds of cute.

Our day was full of exciting experiments, like watching the snake grow.
Dr. Clegg shared, via video, all about hand structure, with a lovely model.

Then we took a turn at creating robotic hands.  We had some great helpers for this challenging STEM activity.

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton visited and was mighty impressed with all the things we could make our hand do.
We had Mrs. Paris' famous cinnamon rolls disguised as mummies.

We enjoyed yummy punch full of worms and lots of treats.  Sadly, Mrs. Paris could not wield the camera and make slime, ghost bubbles, screaming balloons and vampire veins, so there is no evidence of the fun we had.

It was a successful party day!

Dinosaur

 Fall break is here, yippee!

Up till now we've been working hard.

The weather was cooler, but we still were able to get out a lot and work on our dinosaur projects.

Our artist of the month was Monet. We made lilly pads.

Followed by tissue paper lillies.

Even w hen it rains, we get out for a bit.

We are whipper snippers,

We're in luck,

If it rains all day,

We'll pretend we're ducks.

Mrs. Davis-Rapier showed us another experiment with copper sulfate used to make a sparkler.

The time finally arrived to present our dinosaur projects.  Everyone did an awesome job!!!

We hid little dinosaurs in concrete dough to make fossils.  We went out early Thursday to hide the fossils.  Both Mrs. Polston and Mrs. Dennison brought their kids out and we met our buddies.  We found the fossils and showed our new friends the books we made them.  Our little friends were thrilled to excavate their tiny beasts from the fossils.  There just isn't anything much better than the wide-eyed wonder of a four year old.

And the last group of amazing presenters. You can see evidence of our celebration for the money raised for our first service project- blue teeth and lips.

We learned a lot and had a lot of fun.

Now off to more fall break fun.
